2008- 2009 WORKSHOP PROGRAM
The following workshops and courses will either be held at our unit, Garngoch Workshops or at the Bryngwyn Centre, Gorseinon. We also take classes for guilds and groups at a venue of your choosing - see Page 2 for a list of available workshops and contact Fiona by e-mail fiona@ario.co.uk for further details. If you have a group but no venue and are prepared to travel, a workshop can be arranged at our unit, contact Fiona for details, dates, etc

The workshops held at the Bryngwyn Centre are being run in conjunction with Lifelong Learning program at Gorseinon College and are open to anyone with an interest in textiles, paper crafts and mixed media. All the workshops are suitable for all abilities (unless otherwise stated).

Quick & Easy 6 week course of 2 hour sessions to be held at our unit in Garngoch Workshops, during which you will learn how to use a selection of products. The products and techniques can be used singly or in combinations on textiles and papers, as backgrounds or embellishments. A design source will create a theme that will run through the sessions so that the final outcome will be a sketchbook full of samples and ideas.
Course Fee £45.00

Treasure Necklace £25
Design a one off necklace using "found" & made items. The made items will be constructed from mixed media products e.g. Gels, Tyvek, Textile paints, etc. to make handmade beads and artifacts. You will re-construct the "found" and made items into a contemporary and up to the minute accessory.

Faux Leather Handbag £25
Do you know how versatile brown parcel paper can be? Using paints and waxes for strength, turn a sheet of brown paper into a piece of "faux" leather. You will be layering colours to create a coloured leather effect and using this to make up a bag, wallet and a piece of "bag candy".

You often find images and text that you would like to be able to transfer to fabrics, papers, etc. In this workshop, you will learn how to transfer text and images by a variety of methods. Final surfaces can be used to create book covers, panels, etc. Materials charge of £5.00 applicable.
